But (There ALWAYS is a BUT)..

when I apply a BIT of gas, there is a really small chirping noise... But when at FULL throttle, it growls...ya BABY!

If some has the Stillen Hi Flow Intake, please advise on the little chirping noise...

Or I can just turn UP the radio...hehehe

Advice.

What kind (if any) hp gain or general difference do you feel with the air intake? Any ideas? Quicker take offs, faster acceleration, higher top end? Thanks

P.S. Do the how to's... explain how to install?

I got the intake a week ago, and i feel it pull more at high RPM. Don't feel a difference from a stop.

Stillen Hi-Flow Intake

I felt a difference off the line, as well as on the top end.
The chirp noise is the intake sucking the air in... i have a whistling kinda noise, like from a supercharger when the car is idle... hehe...dont i wish though. At high revs the Maxima does sound like a beast. FEAR IT!!!!

Yeah, my stillen and JWT intakes made the same annoying screetching sound. I took them off for that reason.

i have the stillen too

yes there is a lil chirping in the beginning. and with the intake you get faster revs, with a little loss of low end torque but you get more high end and its more efficient air intake.

Wow, nice looking Maxima! I was going to do the same body kit combination. Is yours an AE with the body kit plus touring spoiler, or are all the parts purchased afterwards?

Ok then I'm not crazy. The chirping DOES exist. Now I can stop worrying.

Thanks guys. BTW: Did a 2 hours road test after installing it. WOW! Need I say more? The kit fits like a glove. No gaps, no adjustment needed. 1.5 hr install.

i'm not sure what are added advantages of the OSCAI(or if they really exist, cuz on dyno, it didn't really seemed like they mattered...) but if you want more sound from your intake, you can always replace your rubber intake hose with a metal piece....think of it as a short-ram intake..it makes more noise at the top end and yeah~~~~ it really really SCREAMS!!!!

JWT Popcharge vs. Stillen Hi-flo

Hey guys, I just ordered a JWT popcharger.......anyone know which one is considered to be the "better" intake?

and cosmetically speaking which one sounds better?

about the same

the stillen one is supposed to be better quality, its made better than the JWT, and plus it has a nice chrome top with the STILLEN logo on it. other than that, i think performance-wise they are the same.

The OSCAI is only good for when you are moving, that's why no gains show up on a dyno.

The Stillen intake uses a K&N filter and the JWT uses a generic brand, if I remember correctly.

being the budget minded fella, how much is the cost of the stillen intake vs. cost of other brands?

which one give you more performance for the money? which one is easier to install and which one is prettier LOL.

money vs. looks

jwt popcharger is cheaper by quite a bit, but if you wants looks get the STILLEN one, it looks better, uses a genuine k&n filter, and has a chrome tip with the STILLEN logo etched in it. the popcharger looks homemade, and is not as good in quality and looks.
