Ok guys, I have been dappling in the bolt-on mods for a while now but I realized that even with a CAI, Y-pipe, exhaust, and chip I still won't be where I want to be performance-wise after spending almost $2k. I've got a couple friends with cars that are way faster than mine right now(a cavalier Z24 and a neon R/T for example,) and I just got a pretty well paying job, so I began looking at upgrades that will actually make a very recognizable increase in performance the late 80's 300zx engine swap and the good ol turbo add-on. Now if you are one of the guys who love to read these and scream bloody murder about using the search engine then you can feel free to post just that but in your case you don't need to read any further. I've searched for hours, trust me, and although I found some useful information, there wasn't enough where I looked to make an educated decision on which is overall more cost and/or power effective, all variables considered. (and wasn't there a sticky on this a while ago? well i looked for that too, so don't kill me please) So, to those of you still interested in helping guys like me out, i will continue...

All I really am asking for is a quick overview of how much each would generally cost, ballpark gains, time each takes, and what else I would need for each. for example the supra TT fuel pump, 300zx exhaust manifold, etc for the swap and whatever else I would need besides the turbo if I decide to do that. Just a quick list will be fine, I'm not asking for much here! I know of a few people who are wondering the same thing, and just the fact that most of the answers would be on the same thread would help exponentially. (oh by the way, I would most likely take the car to a shop instead of doing it in my driveway, so I don't need instructions in how to do the work, just the tools necessary) Thanks a bunch guys

you people claim the search doesn't work, yet look at what I found using it...a thread that lists prices and parts, etc. for the Z31 or a standard turbo swap....go figure--->

Alright well I guess I'm beat on this one. Man, I searched for everything I could think of: vg30de, engine swap, turbo, 300zx to maxima, I just didn't think to search for boost . Well, I figure if you guys thought that post should be a sticky it would be, oh yeah and someone was having problems with the stickies a little while ago right? I still think it should be one but hey that's not my department. thanks for the help DaMax
