Auto window on drivers side

On my 1990se I have a switch that is supposed to make the window go all the way down with one push. This feature works maybe 1 in 50 times. The rest of the time it just goes down a few inches. Can anyone help me fix this small issue?

Thanks.

Your switch may be faulty. Get a replacement. Or take it apart to see if there is any visible damage/burnt out component that you can fix/replace. If the window down button works normally, then check around the auto down switch. All it is is a latching switch.

Hey thanks. I'll look into that. By latching switch (im in class right now and can't look directly at it) do you mean it just uses the main driver side window button?

thanks again

If you decide to take it apart, it's got I think 4 tabs and 3 screws once you remove the switch assembly. By Latching, I mean it's probably a 1-position switch that holds its contacts until connection is broken.

Non-latching switches, you have to hold down to complete whatever operation they control.
