Laptop installation in 94 Max SE

Hello all

I was about to embark on a Laptop installation project, in which I would install a Laptop in the car, which would allow controlling of songs being played, window control , lighting control. Basically a control console for the entire car.

I have the laptop and the laptop cop harness I bought off of this website. But I would not know how to go about installing it, does anyone have any tips?

Thanks

Joe

hmmm

I don't know if its possible to control your windows and lighting, you could do your songs but i think you will need an after market headunit and an auxillary input adapter for it.

If you plan on doing all that, and still need to ask how to install it, you have a LOT of learning to do... Because I'm pretty sure everything will have to be custom made...
Which includes the hardware AND sofware interface... You will need to make the control module(s) for the windows, lights, etc... Easiest part will be the easiest, put a 1/8"-RCA adaptor from your line out...
But for the controls, then you have to decide: Serial, USB, or Parallel? How will you connect the connectors? What programming language will you use to make the software interface?
See what I'm getting at? I would suggest going to a Barnes & Noble or anywhere else that sells books and pick up a couple on Basic Electronics and C++, and look around for some books on C++ and basic robotics...
I've done something similar to this before, in high school, it's really not that hard, if you know what you're doing and do a LOT of research...
