My back speakers and display on the radio keep cutting off and on.

I thought it was a problem due to the corrosion on the battery terminals(why I dunno). I cleaned them up last night and all was well and then it started happening again.
Should I change the fuses. There is a fuse in the amp in the trunk 7.5, should I bother changing that.
Is there a seperate fuse for the antenna????

well if the fuse was bad, then it would be blown and that means your speakers wouldnt go in and out, and if you deck display is going in and out sounds like a prob with the deck or power to the deck, is it after market or stock?

fuses either work or they dont, you wouldnt be getting sound and then not sound if a fuse was bad, but go ahead

How loud are you playing it? With my old speakers in mine, if I cranked the volume too loud, the entire head unit would shut itself down since my speakers weren't amp'd....
If you're cranking it way up, then don't, turn it down lower... If not, then check and see if there's anything cracked/shorted in the HU itself... Or in the wires going to the rear speakers.

back speaker

I just want to let you know if you have active speaker your rear speaker is drive by a seperate amp.located in your trunk Maybe your problem is comming from that because i just change my org.radio by a max 1999 cd player and my rear speaker was not working due to that amp.

Re: back speaker

I had the same problem with my Max...except the radio went out when i hit the brakes...My corroded battery connections had something to do with it...also, you may have a loose terminal behind the radio itself and it acts weird with variations in the road. After I put a new radio in my car, the problem was solved....just my $0.02...

I had a similiar problem - radio display /speakers cutting out; radio diplay flashing slightly with the turn signals; temp needle jumping around when fan was turned on or signals were flashing; sometimes the windows would not go up; a/c compressor cutting in-out - wierd little things.

Couldn't figure out what was going on - thought it might be a relay somewhere. Turns out when I was checking the relays in front of the battery, I also checked the ground cable from the battery and there's a groung connection next to the relay box that had worked itself loose over the years.

Tightened this down and low and behold, it corrected all the problems I was having! Couldn't believe it!

I was ready to spend hours trying to find this problem. Got lucky instead!

Check your ground cable.
