Guess What I Got Today?!

http://community.webshots.com/album/41297298AhMvfv

I know its not much now, but if you all remember my old car, you can tell how this one will turn out. Picked it up today...Let me know what you think and any ideas you all may have.

FYI...This was a theft recovery, so I got it for a great price. This thing runs EXCELLENT!

looks good man...just get the spoiler fixed, put your old rims on and put in a cd player. Just what I would do. Great job on the find and good luck with your new toy. Happy modding

Glad to hear you've gotten another Maxima so quickly. Sounds like this one runs better. You sound like you should just sit back and enjoy the ride of this one a bit first before you start working on it.

sweet
A few little things i noticed or would recommend (aside from what Pearl93SE said):
-maybe take off the sunroof wind deflector? (Maybe not, i saw it on your old max)
-i know youll take off the parking permits and hopefully the nissan dealer badge
-new windshield wiper ****? along with shift ****? and the glove box rip/mechanism <- i take it that its broken because your leg is holding it inplace in one picture and its just open in the other. is the locking mechanism broken or just need to be adjusted?
-also the drivers foglight looks darker than the passanger side one. could be a shadow or reflection though.
-are you going to beable to use your old dash pieces with the new one?

also about the wheels, took a while to rotate them on the old one hunh?
later

*Sigh*

Everyone's finding VE 5spd's but me

Do I see something leaking under the car in that one side shot?

As far as the dash pieces go, the center radio bezel/climate control piece is different from 89-91 and 92-94. So if he had a dash kit or something he wouldnt be able to use all of it.

As you all have noticed, this car needs some crazy lovin! Yes, the spoiler need to be fixed...Im going to do a search for previous posts on the best way to do so.

Here's the list:
Spoiler- you all know the deal
Sunroof deflector- Keepin it on like the my old car, I like it.
Fog light- It seems like the reflector inside rusted or broke. The bulb doesnt work either. Its okay though, I think they will be replaced soon.
All of the locks are getting replaced. The ignition is broken and the door/turnk locks will be replaced to match the ignition. The Glove box cover will be replaced and I will soon get another carbon fiber shift **** (the old one wore out). I let my old pedals and upper dash panel go with my old max as well. I kept the center piece which I will use in this car. Oh yeah, I had already changed the dash in my 91 to the 92-94 style, so Im already ahead of the game
Dont forget this Dash picture

The Decals are going! I am so happy this car does not have pinstripes!! But the door moldings need to be repained too. The engine will look new when Im done with it on Tuesday. I am going away to NY this weekend to my cousin's wedding, so I will start working on her on monday or tuesday. Mods will go on later, and I will put the rims on when I get a new pair of tires for my 5th gen wheels.

I paid $2200 for this car and I think its worth it for all of the minor things it needs....I am going to have so much fun putting this car together!

Smart man! 92-94 looks way better too

Dang....that's a freakin great price on that.

Argh, everything is a go for me. Just gotta find the 5spd, switch all the mods over, and sell off the auto as stock. I might even come close to breaking even on the deal.

Now all I need is a freakin VE 5spd for sale somewhere around here! I've looked just about all over TX with no luck.

Could be water from the A/C?

Looks good man, I'm happy you found a new one so quickly. I love the paint color. I'd throw a CD player in there as quick as I could, then enjoy it for a bit...before I got down and dirty heheh

Keep up the good work, and I'm glad to see your happy again, looks like you got an awesome deal!!

Yeah, I had the AC running on the way home. This car runs awesome, but my VG ran the best. I will never forget the VG power. I was really enjoying it with the Y pipe and exhaust. There was so little strain on the engine after I got all of it done.

A few things I noticed that are different between my VG and this VE. Some reason my VG had a lot of rattles. It felt loose (I guess thats my fault, huh?) The VE is VERY quiet and tighter in the steering and suspension.

I need to put my stereo in BAD! This bose system is kinda messed.

DA-Max, I part if the grey maxima family now , and Im still working on beating this guy down!

Congratulations man, that car has a lot of potential and I know once you're done with it, it's going to look nice. It's nice that you already have most of the mods waiting to be installed. You had reached a point with you're old car were you had everything done, so maybe it's for the better. Can't wait to see the mods installed, and have fun installing them.

Thanks man, hey I got a ? for you... do the centercaps on your wheels have a chrome nissan logo? I have just the grey ones, but I want the chrome ones. I think they look a little nicer.

Yes they do, they were supposed to come with grey but I guess they ran out and sent me chrome. I didn't want them at first, but they go good with the lug nuts. I bought them from Maximachad on e-bay, so you might be able to get a set from him for a good price.
