Trust me - It'll start falling down. Two of mine broke, but I was able to keep them up for about a week. Then I just gave up and bought two new regulators from Nissan and installed then myself.

if you really dont like your windows to roll down, you could keep them how you have them but like rbloedow said, they will fall down
all the vibrations from the road will cause them to slowly come down

if you want, you could open up the door panel and prop a piece of wood or something up in there to keep them from sliding but I'd really recommend saving up the $60 or so each and just putting them in yourself

the install is pretty easy and it's documented on www.bignissan.org.uk in the J30 section under common faults

My stepfather and I had to go into the door and pull out the regulator and respool it by hand to get the thing to go all the way up. Mine has been up for weeks now and hasn't fallen... oh wait, I do remember that I was minus a screwdrive when we got done, so maybe something is holding it up in there.
