Axle Question(s)

Searched.

Found lots except for the "other" little bit of info I was after. Found Matt's instructions on changing the axle/cv boots. I know autozone probably carries the axle.

And excuse how simple these questions are, but
1. what do you search for on their website when looking for the axle?
2. what are all the parts one should replace when replacing the entire front axle (both sides)?

If you are going to replace the entire axle you should replace the axle seals even if they aren't leaking. When they do start to leak you have to take the axles out again to replace them. Mine where a pain to get out and i wish i would have replaced my seals but i'm waiting until i do my clutch to replace them.

Re: Re: Axle Question(s)

Found these on the autozone site. I am going to the store tomorrow to check, but from experience, are these the right ones to get.

for the left side, I found this "CV Half-Shaft" part # 7213
and for the right, "CV Half-Shaft" part # 7254.

No pictures on the site (this is where store visit comes in). But for those who've done this job (read: Matt and co.), are these the right parts? They are both $59.99, but the right has a core value of $50 and the left, $35.

By the way, thanks all for the help with the ball joints last week. Ride quality improved tremendously (may have damaged the tie rod ball joint in the process though ).
