Here's the scoop. For all those maxima lovers that live in the heavy salt states call Nissan Corporate at 1.800.647.7261 and provide them with your VIN. They will then determine if your car has been fixed, your account is still active, or you are not part of the recall. Also, this recall DOES NOT include the seat belt bolts underneath the rear seat. If this area is rusted and it concerns you, you will have to have it fixed on your own. Furthermore, the seat belt bolts that Nissan is referring to in the recall are located inside the trunk. These can become rusted due to poor placement/installation of the fuel tank fill tube. To determine if this area is rusted, just remove the left inside trunk liner. The belt assembly is located in the upper left. Hope this helps......
