IMO

If you don't have a high power stereo system just stick with a stock replacement. Choose a place where you can warranty the battery without any headaches and worry, for this I would suggest going to Sears. They should have couple of batteries to choose from, you and your wallet will make that choice. The reason I like Sears because you can return a battery for warranty or proration without any agruements, that fact they are nation wide helps also. Just stick with any nation wide store.

If you can afford it, get an Optima battery. Those babies will last a hella long time, will start practically anything, and are virually indestructible. They are expensive though.

Yeah...I would recommend just a regular battery unless you have a lot of strain on your electrical system, ie big system, fogs, high wattage bulbs etc. Then either go with a Optima Red or Yellow top, depending on what you are looking for. Yellow top is a deep cycle battery, so you can drain it down to nothing and then charge it back up again without hurting it(Something like 350 times). So if you leave your stereo on a lot without the car running that is the one for you. A Red top is just like an extreme regular battery...Good if you are like a grocery getter, ie you take a lot of short trips and many times don't give your battery time to charge back up. And both of them can be inverted. Very good batterys...But they ARE expensive.

Unless you have a killer stereo system or something of that sort, a stock replacement battery will do you just fine.

The original battery in my car was still worked fine, but I could tell the starter was beginning to crank slower after 6 years and 80,000 miles.

I went to Sears and got a Die Hard Gold GRP 35 (640CCA/800CA) Battery. It came with a 84 month warranty.

After 61,000 miles and 50 months, I haven't had any problems.

Costco is a great place for a stock battery.

oh if it makes any difference, optima is the #1 brand of 4wheelers also, winches are hell on the battery, if you dont have a good one, your winch may be worthless, and itll drain it alot faster than a stereo , but optimas keep people running. just some food for thought.

Go with Optima

I don't have a "killer" stereo but I do have 3 MTX amplifiers. It seems like I had tried every brand out there; they all pretty much would die after a few winters up here in the northeast chill (and a few incidents of me leaving my lights on); then I got the Optima yellow top.

It rocks. It's a bit more expensive, but it's a different technology (drycell vs the common acid/electrolyte-type). They can take you draining them all the way and charging them back up many many times before [even] trying to die.

if you don't have too many electrical stuff like a stereo system or lots of fog lights. I think the best thing for you to get is an INTERSTATE battery. Interstate battieries are a little expensive but they're the best. Also Optima Batteries are made by Interstate batteries. Hope this helps.

Check ebay

there are always Optima batteries for sale. You'll pay anywhere between $85 - $125 depending on luck and how good of a bidder you are.
