93 SE to a 92 SE engine swap
I have a totalled 1993 Maxima SE 5 speed. Is it very difficult to put the engine and tranny in a 1992 Maxime SE auto? I will have both cars side by side to do the swap, so I should have all brackets, grommets, etc. from the 1993 to put in the 1992.

Sounds like me It is not too easy, but can be done. Much easier with a donor. I would recommend using the 5 speed ecu and wiring harness, so you dont get a check engine light. If you come to cali I can have the trans swapped in both cars for $500 and the trans and engine in both cars for $1000

I'll have the complete donor car (minus mashed in front clip) tight outside the garage for the operation. That should make it easier. I've got 2 cherry pickers, and 2 engine stands. This is all IF the insurance doesn't want too much to get it back.

I assume that I will be able to leave the stock wiring, just change the ECU, the engine and the tranny? Will the same mounts work? OR do I need to swap some of those as well? I also assume that I just punch out the hole in the firewall, then mount and hook-up the clutch pedal? Anything out of the ordinary to watch out for? For some reason the gentleman who sold me the car thinks there are differences between the 2 years. I thought they would be the same since they are both VE engines.

hmmm thats kinda wierd because i would think they would do the change between 1991 and 1992. my 93' has R-134a. what about GXEs, do any of them use R-134a or do they all run R-12.
