I finally got the side molding off and the sticky 2 sided tape! The spots where the tape was is faded pretty bad, how do i get that to shine back up? Ive already washed it! Now what?

Whatever you do.....DON'T wax it. The molding is not only faded, but very dry. It will suck up wax like a sponge....and dry white. The only way to get the sine back is to paint it. Find your color at www.paintscratch.com Get the spray with the "flex agent".

aww man...that was tha first thing i did after i removed the molding...didn't turn white, but i didn't get all tha adhesive off either!!

I am getting it painted and shaved, but i just want to make it look better for the time being!!

I'm replacing my sidemolding right now. New ones already painted in the body color are still available from Nissan, much to my surprise. I got help from a body shop who said to use a heat gun (or hair dryer) to soften the adhesive and remove the side moldings, using a plastic spatula or scraper to remove the moldings. They then use a rubber eraser style wheel on an air grinder type tool (spins it) to "erase" off the rest of the stickum. I suppose you could also use 3M adhesive remover. That stuff takes off any adhesive. Once its clean and cleaned of wax, the new moldings already have the sticky tape on them. Just peal the backing off and stick on.

thanks but im not putting new moldings on......and ive already got the tape off, i used sticker shock and it desolves the tape and i used the top of from the can to get the sticker off! Im hopefully getting the door moldings shaved next month. Thanks anyways

how much were new moldings?

About $80 for a front molding and $60 for the rear.
