yeah what kevlo said. the parts lady at the dealership told me it doesnt matter, all you have to do is remove that ring or something like that.

would the axle fit an auto with traction control?

I didn't know 99's had traction control but I can't say for sure. You could call the dealership and ask. I've never seen that as a determining factor for an axle, only abs or vlsd.
