but won't know for sure until I try one more thing (the resonator box insulator or air duct insulator is cracked and broken so I'm ordering a new one of those first).

Turns out the cleaning seems to have worked, plus I pulled one at a junk yard on Monday for $30 as a spare. Good luck.
