I'm looking for a new radiator support for my 97 maxima. If you have one for sale (lower or whole kit), send me a PM. Will pay via paypal.

I say go to courtesy nissan for it.
It's around $150 and well worth it.

I was getting ready to purchase this on ebay until I saw this post. Why OEM? Doesnt this require a lot more work?

No more work than a factory one.
Your question really makes no sense.

As far as why Oem; eBay might last you a month. Oem will last countless years.
Search and you will find many ebay horror stories about their paper thin metal.

Oem or nothing.

OEM or bust.

Meaning if you don't go OEM, you WILL be doing it again within a year.

In the interest of not starting a new thread (sorry op), is there a certain way to just replace the upper support? That bar got mangled in an impact and the hood support in the front (where the latch attatches) is snapped in half.. so my hood moves a ton on the interstate..

Upper, you say? Grab a hammer and smack it back, and get a new latch assembly.

The latch is new, it's the bar that goes down the front-middle vertically. And there's cracks all across the top. I'd like to just fix it....

This is the vertical piece, called "stay-hood lock" - 27 bucks OEM, 62515 in the diagram below

This is the upper horizontal piece, the actual upper radiator support - 72 bucks OEM , 62511 in the diagram below
