I have Just finished rebuilding my 220a alternator if anybody is interested. I just took it to the parts store and its pushing a healthy 13.8v
Looking for $120 shipped, no core.
It is coated black for looks only.

220amp? bigger diodes or what? hi output?

 

I guess you would consider it high output but haven't seen any under 250a named high output.
It was on my previous max and when i parted the car i decided to rebuild it and sell it as the bearings started to go. i had a sound system on it pushing 1600watts lights did not dim at all.

 

lights never dimmed even at idle? 220Amps is pretty high output.

 

I suppose if you go full blast they would.
I dont know why you would, over an extended peroid of time though.
It wasn't no competition series system but two DC 12" on a parallel
