Strange Headlight Problem...

Start up my car after work today, and there is a strange buzzing noise comming from the inside somewhere. Turn the headlights on and the noise went away. Drove home, pulled up to the garage, notice that the drivers side headlight is dead. Flashed the high-beams and no light. Passenger light and fogs are all on, and passenger light works on high. Do I have a wiring problem, or is the bulb just dead? I'm not sure, but I believe that head lights are 9004 and should be a dual filament. Does this bulb work on both filaments or do both the low and high beam work off the same filament? Any help would be great.
Thanks to all

yeah it is a dual filament but it sounds like you bulb is gone if you replace it and it still doesnt work or only works sometimes push on the connector if it works then you need a new connector that happened on mine

The 9004 has two seperate filaments, and they don't normally both go out at the same time. It doesn't sound like the bulb, although that would be the easiest and first place to test (with a new bulb).
