I finally decided to clear out my old tails and take my altezzas out for a while.

So far, my mom, dad, and sister want me to put my altezzas back on. They think they look a lot better. The first thing my sister said was, "Ewww....those old lights are too square and ugly." My mom and dad were like...that was a waste of your money, the others looked so much better, why did you take them off?

What I think...I think chrome altezzas are butt ugly on every color but white. White is such a neutral color that it doesn't look bad at all with the altezzas. Black or any other color cars with altezzas conflict and it looks weird. Remember, I also had the body shop paint the gray trim around my altezzas body color to make it even cleaner.

So I think I'll try these red/clears for a while, and will put my altezzas back on if I get tired of them or if I get more hassling about my altezzas looking better than the "blocky lights".

Just thought I'd share...feel free to post your comments or suggestions.

red/clear is the way to go, altezza's are too ricey.....nothing hard about sticking on new taillights, any shmuck can do it.

But clearing out your clears u gotta work for that...u're max will stand out much more then those altezzas that every other car has now.

I don't think there's a such thing as decent looking altezza's, so as long as your red/clears look alright, you've made a good decision.

 

I don't like them either , but they don't look bad on a white or light colored max

I remember when I was driving on the highway one day. I saw a car that at first glance lookied like a blue SI. Then I realised the collor was wrong, so I looked closely and it was a Max. It happened to be Shadows car.

The point is, the red clears do make us look a little like civics.

Altezzas are a rice mod... Thank you so much for getting rid of them ....

 

Umm...I just was noticing that the '02 Altima tails kind of look like Alteeza tails. Maybe if everyone called them Alteemas instead of Alteezas, more people would like them??

By the way, I cleared out my lenses, I added a custom 1 inch burnt plastic look to the driver side. Uhh...not on purpose of course...

 

the 1993 SE Maxima's had red/clear tails.. so unless you can find a civic who had it before then.. we were first..

 

And Altezzas don't make our cars look like Civics?

the only way i think altezza's look good are if you cover the chrome part with body color stuff so it looks sorta like skyline lights. sexima is a good example and i've seen black max's that look sweeeeeet like that.

you know, so only the round red lights show, no riceboy chrome crap.

and i think red/clears look heeeeella better than the yellow crap, so i don't care if it looks like a civic.

 

yes, the skyline tails look pretty sweet on a maxima........red/clear stuff - big deal.......lots of cars have those kinda tails...... imprezzas have them too

Hey, I have altezzas and im not a rice boy... Although i painted them except the circle part to look like the "kind" skyline tails... but theyre still altezzas. By the way does anyone know how much $ is the cheapes i could get a real set of R34 tails.??

i think the red/clears look better, but i think itsj ust because the picture quality is better on them...the altezza's look good too, but the image quality seems poor....so thumbs up to the red/clears....if i find my stock tails, ill get my altezza's painted, and if i dont like it, ill have red/clears

 

I think the ALtezzas look better. The Red Clears just look to stock to me, you might as well just throw that Orange lens back in there if your gonna do that. Just my 2 Cents!

 

i've considered going from altezza's to red clears on mine but don't think i'll go through with it. however, i do think yours looks good with both...red/clears looks classier and doesn't stand out as much...so as long as you like them keep em.

btw, what kind of car is that in the last pic next to the fire hydrant?

 

When altezzas first came out I thought they were cool. I still like the way they look on IS300s and now the Altimas, but the Maxima tailights are too big to have altezzas IMO. Clear tails look much cleaner.

 

I think its a 300zx..either that or a 240sx

Personally, I like the Altezza's. Go figure. I wish there was a better option as well, but I just think clearing out the tails doesn't give it that much different of a look.

 

whoa it doesnt really take much to make the rear look nice huh. I say shave the hamburger and youll be set.

whoever ask to me get the altezzas, I would absolutely say "NO~~"...
