how do you do this? and what do u mean it to put it in backwards

the 1157 has two nubs on it's side. one is towards the bottom and one is a little higher. this makes sure you put the bulb in the correct way. also this makes sure the lower wattage fillament connects to your lighting system. by turning the bulb around, you make the higher wattage fillament have a connection. you do this by removing the upper nub off of the bulb with cutters/filing/etc. now that the upper nub is off, you put the bulb in backwards so that the lower nub actually goes into the slot where the higher nub was in. the bulb will not go in as deep as it did before, but that's okay. there's a little spring in the bottom that should push the connectors up to the bulb. if it doesn't reach the terminals on the bulb, just push on the wires going into the harness from the backside. this should help the spring push up the connectors to the bulb.
This makes a very big difference. i would also reccomend going with piaa bulbs. i did, and now with both rewiring and the piaa's, my corners are about a third as bright as my headlights. really helps parking the car at night. if you go with another brand of bulbs besides piaa, make sure that the higher wattage is not too high since this is now the wattage you will be running. i've heard of ppl melting things.
