ACT Clutch installed correctly?

Hey Guys,
I just got my ACT Clutch w/street modified disc installed. I got it back not more than an hour ago. When I drove it however, the margin where the clutch catches is very small. It seems almost instantaneous. Also, the car shakes when catching. Are these all normal signs? Once the clutch is settled and broke in should these go away? Thanks alot.

Yeah, that sounds normal. I found that tapping the gas to get the rpms around 1800 and then letting out the clutch while maintaining 1800 allowed the smoothest take off. After a couple of hundred miles the clutch broke in beautifully. It is now as smooth as stock, only the pedal pressure is a little stiffer and I let it out around 1200. Brand new, the ACT was all or nothing - it will break in. I thought my car was gonna fall apart the first few times I let it out.

Hi

You probably need to bleed the clutch. You probably have air bubbles in the hydraulic system. I had the same problem . The shaking is normal "chattering" should disappear after running it in for a while.

Has anyone actually put their own clutch in? I took me about 8 hours with the help of a couple friends. Freakin tranny is a little hard to align by yourself But has anyone else done theirs? Or does everyone just pay ridiclous rates to have it done?
