Louder Exhaust?

What exactly can make your Exhaust louder? And no, I dont want the Fart Muffler Noise. Let me explain

All I have is a new Muffler, i can show pics if you want to see. Its the Tunable kind, it cost me like $150. Now when I first installed it without any mods, It had a tone to it, but it was VERY LOW. Then When Installed the High Flow Intake, It became a bit louder. Now its noticible when the car is geared in 1st and 2nd. Now what I want is that same Deep tone but louder! What would you recommend to do the trick? Someone told me puttin in aftermarket Headers will make it louder? Others are tellin me the B Pipe and Y Pipe make it louder? What can be done, and what is the Best mod for the buck?

I appreciate the feedback!

Nick

the greddy is pretty loud as well, but can get drony at times.....first just get the y pipe (you get nice hp gain out of it too), and see if that sounds nice...you can get one from either budget, warpspeed, cattman, or $tillen....id recommend budget or warpspeed if your on a budget......then if its not loud enuff yet, get the b pipe from courtesy nissan......the Y will cost you anywhere from 180 ---> $300 depending on which you get, but remember, they all do the same $hit....the b pipe i beliee is around $250

courtesy polished stainless bpipe cost me $189 plus shipping. around $210 total. if you have a 97-9, you will need to retain that Sbend where the rear O2 sensor plugs in (not a problem). if you are 95-6 you will need to buy the Sbend from them and plug the O2 bung. my advice is to have a muffler shop just weld a straight pipe from the cat flange to the bpipe regardless if it's stainless or not. another alternative is to wait for warpspeed to get their version of T304 stainless bpipe ($$). i heard it's going to eliminate the Sbend right from the start. they have an aluminized Bpipe available with or without a resonator (150-170+shipping). your car will get pretty loud if you have a ypipe, bpipe and straight thru muffler. good luck.

How loud?

Just for future reference, how much louder does just adding the Y-pipe make your exhaust? How much louder does it get with the B-pipe and a new muffler? Thanks.

When you start your car in the morning...

with a YPIPE + NON OEM muffler:

A. Your neighbors will think the world is coming to an end.

B. Neighbors in the next subdivision will think you are testing out a new Industrial Strength WEEDWACKER/Lawnmower.

C. At wide open throttle, Earbleeding will be reported as far as 2 miles away.

D. All of the above.

I love my Ypipe(get one)+ Bpipe and keep your stock muffler.

Are there any non-OEM mufflers that aren't super loud? I eventually want to get something with maybe a little bigger tail pipe, but I wouldn't want it to be really really loud.

a borla proXS and turbo muffler (offset/center) with borla intercooled 3.5" round angle tip are perfect. just perfect with the ypipe and bpipe. you get an aggressive tone that won't hurt your ears. if you run with a test pipe, it gets louder, but still not enough to hurt your ears. the sound also becomes more hollow with no cat. still a great aggressive sound. it sounds mild when you're on part throttle. the best part, is it looks like stock, but you get the performance of a straight thru muffler. you can also polish the T304 stainless to a mirror shine or keep it as is for the stock look. search feature helps also. good luck.
