stillen aero kit questions
stillen aero kit questions
I am looking into getting a stillen aero kit for my maxima and i know that there are a handful of people of here with them. before I get serious about it I was wondering how exactly do you install them? Also about how much is it to get painted to match the car.. thanks for your help.
Just got done installing my stillen aero kit on my 96 Max and let me tell you, what a PAIN! Your gonna want a professional body shop to install this for you (luckly my neighbor has one). Rivets, Rivets, and more Rivets along with the double sided tape is what we used. There are still some gaps between the body and the kit, though, which will be covered up with some black silicon. Just installing the kit took a whole day of our time. Today we just prepared the polyurethane for painting and will be finishing up on Monday. Days total to install and paint; about 3 days (to do it right). Just post if you need any more info.

I dont have a kit, but i can tell from what i've seen people post in the last few years is
1. Dont use JUST double-sided tape...
2. Use rivits, screws or something else to keep it in place!!!
3. search for "wrecked my front lip" or "body kit fell off" and you'll find some guys who have learned the hard way about lesson # 1 and 2

That sucks man...but i bet it will look so NICE!!!
Oh so nice, let me tell you. It makes wheel gap my H&R's give the car look even smaller too. As for the cost, if you don't know anyone who can do it on the side, your lookin at about another $7-$800 tacked on to the cost on the kit. Like I said, it's a b!&@h to put on, and it will show in the cost. And you DEFINATELY want to rivet or screw every piece onto the car or your kit won't be on the car shortly after you drive off!

I've called a bunch of places and the going rate seems to be about 500-600.
300 is a really good price, and its from the stealership no less. wow.
