Installed Y-Pipe, causing a problem.... squeeking

1. The ypipe is a great mod, changed the sound of my car. Makes it sound bigger, especially when it's warmed up!

2. Once it's warmed up, it's creating a squeeking sound

Basically once i've driven it for about 5 minutes, any bump i make will cause the whole exhause system to make a squeeking sound.

If i park the car, turn it off, get out and lightly hit the muffler with my foot, i get a squeeking sound. It sounds tunnel like... as if it's coming from the muffler, but also futher in the pipe.

Anyone have an idea or solution to this problem?

Thanks

I had this issue. For me it was the bracket where the rubber hangers to the cat were removed and the cat was hitting those brackets. I just bent them outta the way and whoila...gone. This is the issue for most pipe rattles.

it's possibe i guess... the budget ypipe doesn't com with an extra hanger piece... i guess when it gets hot the squeeking starts because of the rubbing. ( Not to be taken the wrong way... )

And once the car is off for 30 seconds, the squeek goes away.
Though once i take off and drive again, the squeeking will start after like a minute, since the pipes are already hot.

The Y-pipe should have already had the hanging piece. You just need to bend it back so it doesn't hit the frame.

in that pic... i don't have the right hanger, but i do have the left one, with the big metal piece and all... The left piece might be touching the pipe and when hot creating that loud sound? I'll have to check to see if it's touching.

I dunno, I only had the left hanger metal piece, attached to the y pipe. the oem pipe had one on both sides, which attached to the rubbers.

ur budget pipe came with a hanger on the left side?

i jus used the hanger from the oem pipe...well i worked with a wsp pipe and it didn't come with it's own hanger

yup... the oem pipe has metal pieces on the pipe the come out, to goto the rubber piece. the y pipe only had one extruding metal piece.
The one on the left side. Now i have a rubber piece attached to my car just hanging on the right side with no metal piece from the y-pipe to attach to.

Looks like wrong pipe or pipe that also fits a different car. The support from the header bolts and the hangers on the cat are the only things that are supposed to be there to hold the pipe up, other than what also holds up the B pipe and the muffler. But hey, if it fits just find a way to bend it out of the way.

Actually the Stock Y-pipe and Stillen Y-pipe have a support bracket right before the flex section, this is used to help support the Y-pipe. I've never seen this on a Cattman, Warpspeed, or Budget Y-pipe.
