does anyone have input on installing a Levoc Gear Shift **** for an Automatic 96 maxima?
I ran into a problem with the 2 wires that come out of the console, they are not long enough for splicing. Can the housing come off of the console without taking the whole thing apart?

Please help if you can.
Thanks

if you havn't cut the wires yet, the best way is to get a solder gun and burn them loose from the points of contact on the ****. These are visible from the right side if you put your head down beside it. If you've already cut them too short you will need to take the stuff apart to trace them down to where you can splice. Its not that hard.

I installed my 2 days ago. Removed the whole console box, without cutting any wires.

The two major things that I've used were the black plastic tube that u have to cut and one screw. There was something else, but most of the stuff is still in the box.
You need only one screw for the new **** unlike the stock one that used two. And put the screw in the upper hole, that way your **** won't be very tall.

Hey Andy....

How nuch did you cut the black tube? Did you do it the 15mm they recommend?

AGnismo...you have a nice site, and I like what you did with your shifter.

Yeah, I think I was using their formula. Cut what they say, if it's still long cut a little more, try not to cut too much the first time. Push the **** all the way down, the button on top shouldn't be loose. Also before you completely install the shifter try the OD button, I made a mistake connecting OD wires wrong, good thing I checked before putting everything back together. Also check how you **** **** is switching between gears, it should go smooth.

Hope this helps a little.
