HID xenon bulb

when i bought my car it already had HID headlights in it with xenon bulbs. driving home tonight i noticed that i had a headlight out. when i got home i put in one of those xenon bulb imatations i had from my previous car and it looks like crap, it looks just like a stantard hologen bulb. i was woundering where i could get the real xenon or simalur bulb.

thanks

Im a little confused by your post, First of all, the REAL HID bulbs dont go out as easy as halogens do. And secondly, I dont think u can swap a halogen bulb in place of a xenon bulb...I dont think u have HIDs..You probbaly just have imitation bulbs which put out white light..so just go out and buy a similar bulb..

the light that comes out of the headlight is different from regular headlights and the color is different then regular halogen and xenon imatations. i need to find a place to get the real xenon light bulbs.

We, the 4th gen, DO NOT HAVE HID. The only possibility is that you buy the car used and the original owner left the HID system in the car for you. However, that is rare as the kit sell couple hundreds and he/she would have taken out the system and keep/sell it. How can you be certain it is a HID by only looking at the beam pattern?????? the only way to be certain is to check if the system is there.

Yea, true HID and HID imitation bulbs are different. Totally different system too. If you bought it new theres now way it had HIDs anyway.

You sure you just don't have one of those phony 90/110watt bubls in there and replaced the broken one with like a 60/90 so it's different? Do you see a ballast and starter for the HID around your housing?

Your car does not have HID headlights. You have high wattage 9004 xenon bulbs in there. Probably 80/100 watts. The stock bulb you put in is only 45 watts and thats why it looks very different from the other ones you had in there.

If your car was equipped with an aftermarket HID system and you put in a stock 9004 bulb, the bulb would have exploded when you turned on your headlights.

Go get yourself a new set of 9004 superwhite bulbs and you'll be all set. Your never going to find a single bulb to replace the one that quit on you. They don't even sell individual 9004 bulbs, they only come in sets.

Just look in the engine, behind the headlight. And look for a power box or whatever that thing is. You can buy a real HID kit, I just bought one!

Just go to Kmart and get some 9004 Philips Bluevision bulbs. I think they're like $10 each.

What kind of light are you looking for? Bluish or whitish? I have been pretty happy with my PIAA headlights and foglights. They have decent output and look pretty good. I have X-treme whites. I also used Nokya arctic white bulbs as well but they put out much more of a blue light. I liked them too though. I would get a wiring harness for the Nokyas though.

This might help:
http://www.bryanb.com/site/maxima/he...ts/lights.html

If you have fogs, I'd recommend the Piaa Xtreme whites they are worth the added expense.

I have no experience with the Piaa Xtreme 9004s, but I can tell you that they are expensive.

If you're looking for a less expensive bulb with better than stock output, I'd recommend the Philips BlueVision. They have a light blue coating on the bulb (very light coating) and give a whiter cast light. They are nearly identical to the original Piaa Superwhites (not the Xtreme).

get some on ebay... i've bought two pairs off of there... only used one so far... they are 80w and put out a slightly blue, very bright light... but it depends on the angle your are viewing from. i think i paid $20 with shipping... and supposedly they have a 1 year warranty... but we'll see. so far so good though!!

Nokya arctic whites are nice, with a noticeable blue tint.
