my mechanic said my slotted/dimpled rotors will eat my oem nissan pads after 10k???
i had my aftermarket slotted/dimpled rotors put on with brand new oem break pads.......he told me that because of all the slots/dimples the pad will be eaten a lot faster, i agree.that's the whole pointed of them being slotted......But he said that my oem nissan pads will only last about 10k with them on. Is he right? Does anyone have experience with slotted rotors and oem pads?
thanks.
thanks.

10K is just a guess on his part. Slotted rotors do chew up your pads quicker. The dimples probably aren't as bad as the slots.
Thats the price you pay to have looks and performance.
Your pad life will depend on how you drive as well. Lots of highway crusing will give you longer brake life. Stop and go city traffic will eat brakes up quickly.
