someone mentioned to me that they got a 95-6 spec rear O2 sensor to wire in and that will trick the ECU to thinking it's the older model. someone else told me to get a device that replaces the O2 sensor and mimics a correct signal so the MIL won't come on. has anyone successfully retrofitted without the MIL coming on? i want to get an upgraded ECU but they don't have a true 97 replacement.

bejay1 actually recommended the O2 sensor swap. he said he wasn't able to get it wired at the time. he said he uses his stock ECU from time to time. to this date i still don't know of anyone that has gotten the old ECU to work without tripping the MIL.Originally posted by Nealoc187

Well looks like I was wrong about BEJAY but I am 99.9% sure Mardigras said he's never had a CEL with his 98... he said that in a thread a few weeks back.

I think the wiring is different on the rear 02. Something about it being a heated sensor? It's probably just a matter of matching up the wires correctly. Cheston actually suggested the idea to me but then we found the wiring diff. Just hasn't been a priority for me yet. 1) New tires 2) New shocks or revalving Koni' 3) Extrude Hone? 14) O2 installOriginally posted by VQdriver
