Frankencar Intake for 98 Max SE 5speed

I have been hearing so many different ways to install the intake. Either by leaving the stock (ram air) to feed somewhat cooler air to the cone filter, or by just taking the whole thing (stock intake) out to clean the engine up a little. Which is truly better, performance wise, or will there be no difference. I ordered my intake on the 12th of july and have not heard anything yet, hopefully coming soon. Just wanted to get the most out of this setup. Any info will help!

I dont know!

For some reason I don't think the stock ram air supplies enough cool air to a cone filter to make a difference. I think clean it up put a heat sheild on it unless you got a CAI. Hope I helped.

Thanks for the info. Don't have a CAI. Heard a lot of good things about the Franken intake. Just wandering which would be the best setup and if the intake itself is made to work with the stock ram air. know what I mean? Is it meant as a Hybrid or just a regular HAI? Well thanks for the reply!
