failed inspection in TX

failed inspection in TX
95 maxima failed inspection today
failed at the 25mph high speed for HC (PPM) the standard is 120 and the car had 251

suggestions as to why this would be; car has original plugs (85k)

any mods on your car? this month is smog time...... guees a 12 pack in the front seat will suffice

You think it runs well.

You'll be amazed how much better it will run with new plugs and a fresh fuel filter.

Change your plugs. I changed mine last week at 60k and can't tell a difference in performance but my gas mileage has improved greatly.
