Tranny Fixed!!!!!

Well, my transmission is totally fixed now!!!

it was just bad bearings.
when it was in the shop though, i had them give me the engine mounts, i reinforced them, had an ACT street clutch installed and they replaced the CV boots (were cracked, but no damage was done luckily). i also had them fill the tranny with redline mt-90 .

now, i have had my AC compressor replaced (still hardly cools anything), hail damage fixed, all the above, put my addco rsb and courtesy fstb on. i am just waiting for my frankencar to come in now.

next up: window tint and viper 600 alarm...

Let's hope they changed out the shim on the bearing, if that's what hte problem was (more than likely it was, from what I've heard with the typical bearing 4th-gen 5-speed tranny problem), or that in the end, the shim and the bearing matched up as far as pre-load on the bearing.

At least that's what the guy at www.motorvate.ca has attributed to repeated failure of the bearing.

Have fun with the refreshed max

How often do you get hail damage down there? Just curious...

well, we get hail once or twice a year, usually in june and sometimes in august or september, but the hail we had this year was like tennis sized ice chunks, not really round, just big jagged ice falling from the sky, so the damage was pretty severe.

I've got a decent amount of hail damage on my i30 too, could you tell me how much it ran you and if they can get dings out of the roof too?
thanks

Yup. That is what I think right now. I have 43,000 Km on my rebuild, so I really don't know for sure.

Before the tranny went 60,000 KM and 80,000 KM, so I need to put on more miles.
