since the car has been in the hands of a person that is into putting aftermarket parts on his maxima...chances are that maxima has been driven pretty hard for most of those 138k miles. just my thought. and i have seen 95's w/lower miles go for the same price if not cheaper. just my .02

I would avoid buying a mod'd car unless I know the person who drove it and how they treated the car.. some people who mod cars baby them (me) others abuse the hell out of them...

I'd look for a bone stock Max or buy a bone stock Max and buy some mods off of him

almost 20000 miles per year average!?!?!?! sounds like too much of a risk to buy it!

yea, i was thinking about selling my car at one time and expected to get taht much if not a little less and i have 110,000 miles with intake and handling mods at that time. Doesn't sound like a great deal barely a good deal if that...

my 02 is that you get a STOCK maxima from some old couple or some guy who doesn't even know what an intake is. Person obviously didn't beat up car and more than likely has a good reason for selling it that won't make u come back to kill him

138k is high mileage, but if its highway miles its better for the car. Since there are mods already on the car... i wouldn't recommend getting it... only cuz the previous owner must have driven it hard. It may sound good... don't have to pay for mods u'd have to do cuz its already on it but just think of the future repair bills... not worth it. Plus, its more fun modding the car ureself w/ new parts. good luck... i hope u find a better max =)

if im not mistaken he said the mods come with the car, but aren't on the car, i may have misread it but that's what i thought he said

it may seem cheap, but in the long run its not. try to find a max which is not modded. most likely if its modded they beat it up, and a new trans can be pricey. do what i did. i found a max from an old retired couple that never took the tach past 2.5k and its got 80kmiles on it and runs beautifully.

As the owner of the car in question, just wanted to say that I have only had the car for the last 22K miles and it was stock when I bought it. All I ever put on it was intake, Y-pipe, RSB, and FSTB. Of course I DROVE it, hard sometimes (like anyone on this board doesn't), but I did not abuse it. Plus the tranny and clutch were replaced soon after I got it...I knew they were going when I got the car, but wanted it anyway. So they are near new. No worries there. You guys' opinions are fine, but I just wanted to clarify the mis-information for my potential buyers if nothing else.

My thoughts EXACTLY!! this is a golden car to buy, when i looked for mine i was hoping to find a old retired couple who had a low mileage and the peddle never touched the floor.... ironically... it seems finding a car in that situation never happened. I think, like many older people who were in WWII never really bought to many Japanese cars... just a thought
( no need to add comments to this, i'm sure everyone has a uncle's sister's brother etc who is that old and has a maxima...)
