rewire fog lights

anyone have any info on how to rewire the foglights on a 1997 max to stay on even if the headlights are off or on high beam , I did this for a 1990 Toyota Supra I had and it was awsome cause the headlights didnt need to come up during dusk.

Do us all a favor and search. I usually am not the first to tell people to do that, but this has been discussed SO MANY TIMES and you should be able to find MANY posts/websites to do it.

ok so here is a question! I saw in some forms where people were saying they might be having a electrical problem because of this rewire...is this something to be concerned about or is it unrelated?

Are you talking about the problem with the sidemarkers and rewired bumper lights and the 7.5 amp fuse blowing out?

Check my sig, I've posted my instructions on my new site too.

And the electrical problem relates to people who have added sidemarker lights and wire them to the corner lights.

cool so the fog light rewire should be safe to do.
The rewireing of the relay does that cause the fog lights to share the power/amparge with the side marker lights? and if it does wouldnt the foglights be not as bright as they would be in the original configuration?

They're not sharing the same power source.

All you're doing is changing the signal wire for the fog relay, both items still get power directly from the battery.

Making the foglamp relay get it's ON input signal from the hot of the parking lights INSTEAD of the headlight low beam. Don't worry about the fuses. Your foglights will pull the full 55Watts of power from the electrical system when they are told by the foglamp relay to do so.

Haven't had any problems with mine.

The rewireing of the relay does that cause the fog lights to share the power/amparge with the side marker lights?

No. My understanding of it is that the sidemarker light wire just keeps the relay "on" so that the fogs can draw power whenever the sidemarker lights are on...the mod doesn't change where the power comes from.

and if it does wouldnt the foglights be not as bright as they would be in the original configuration? [/B]

No.

problem

I did that mod and I keep blowing fuse(fog light fuse), I had higher wattage h3 headlight bulbs, then I returned it back to stock bulbs but I now keep blowing the taillight (parking light fuse).I have rewired the corner light also. I have upgraded the 7.5 taillight fuse to a 15. Is that safe? When I press on my brakes when I first get in the car my lights come on. I don’t know if my headlight go on but I think the fogs or something because my interior driving lights does. Also when im driving and I press on my brakes my radio gets all static.

I sent you an email too.

If the upgraded fuse still blows out, then you have a problem somewhere. You might have grounded a wire somewhere. Make sure every wire that you cut it proper taped off (electrical tape ONLY) if not being used. Also, make sure that no wires have rubbed through and are exposed.

Double check all the connections and the splices that you made. I'm guessing something is getting shorted.
