what tools should i buy

I'm going to put on a ypipe and I know what tools I need but can you guys reccomend any good wrench/socket sets that I can get. I will need these tools later so I want something good.(not too too expensive though...) Thanks.

For a y-pipe I would recomend a large breaker bar and torch. The bolts on the cat are tough.

It is a 12" to 24" long bar you can put your 1/2" socket on the end and break the bolt loose with the leverage of the lenghth of the bar. Its very difficult to do it with a ratchet and your likely to destroy the ratchet in the process. The bar is used only to break the bolts loose, then use the ratchet. You should be able to find it at any auto parts store. Also looke for some PB Blaster to soak the bolts with..this stuff is way better than liquid wrench etc..

I'm guessing there is some special tool you can use to get the o2 sensors off. I just used an open ended wrench in the correct size and mine came off just fine. I have a 97 too.
