Congrats and another thing, you must be the first owner to pull off a successful swap...

SC'ed with MEVI ,I'm at 16-17Hg

According to the Chilton's manual, spec is 17-22.

Although I've found most people get 22-24Hg.

And I'm losing 3PSI of boost somewhere!

I'm thinking you have a vacuum leak.

10 is way too low, it might neet to be broke in a bit. Bit 10 is BAD. With DET IMHO 17-20 hg, you may have a bad vacume leak some where.

Congrats Rob, Idle vacuum should be 17-20in/hg. Sounds like you have a leak. Good luck.

Nope, our VQ30DE is 10:1. The JDM VQ30DET has a 9:1 ratio so that it will work better with boost.

Im using Internals, heads and intake manifold.

The VQ30DET is out of a Y33 Cima (JDM Q45) and good luck finding one they arent too common.

He asked about the DET not the DE. 10:1 on a factory turbo engine would be retarded.

Stock turbo looks to be a T3 I installed a T04b in place of it. I think stock is 6-7 psi.

When do we get to see pics? (of the engine itself and the engine in the car) Is that engine made for a FWD car?

What do you do about the engine fan? You are a real tropper to do an engine swap like that. I wish you the best of luck in the future.

I completely changed everything to stock Maxima on the front of the block like timing covers and pulleys

So you didn't just swap the engines? I know it's RWD and it won't work but did you put VQ30DE parts in the turbo engine or vice-versa. Will you be getting the 280hp/285tq numbers???

Finally got Idle set and 20 inches of vacum. Put it this way it runs easily as good as it did with a 100hp shot of NOS and Im only running 8-9 psi. It also sounds awesome. It drives and sounds stock till about 3-3.5k then boost kicks in and you can here the whistle.

How did you set your idle and fix the vacuum?

I'm interested in knowing if that might help my "problem".

I had a vacum leak where my friend welded the intake and that was leaking bad enough to affect the idle.

How much did it cost you all together? seems like putting a RWD engine into a FWD would be alot of $$$$$$....how much was it all together with changing the internales and everthing? I would love to see what that car runs at the track since the other turbo max out there never runs his car
