"fluid leak" HELP!
I have a 96 maxima 5sp. w/ 80k miles (note: I'm far from being a mechanic!) Recently noticed a slow but persistent fluid leak under the car. At first I thought it was that oil sender switch which, from what I have read, is notorious for leaking. However, this leak is coming from the left side of the engine, on the left side of the center support bar and almost directly across from the oil pan. (left as in when sitting in the car). Again, I am no mechanic, but the housing where the leak appears to be coming from has the appearance of a transmission (three bolts running accross the bottom) but again the car is a five speed!?!?!? The fluid appears to be motor oil. All fluid level containers under the hood appear to be ok. Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated! I fear this is going to be a high $$$ repair!?!!?
