To All Who Bought Cattman/PlaceRacing CAI This Year---

Does anyone else have major fitment issues with trying to get the MAF sensor section to fit into the intermediate intake tubing (clamped on silicone hose)???

I've tried:
-Lube
-Dumping the hose end into boiling hot water (in efforts to soften the hose compound).
-I finally resorted to slicing the inner hose tubing for extra flexibility to get the MAF tube to fit in.

Maybe it's the new silicone tubing PR/Cattman is using for their last batch of CAI but it's so STIFF that it's IMPOSSIBLE to get the MAF tube in.

Any suggestions? Tks.

and a lot of blood and sweat!
also tried prying the crap out of it with 2 screwdrivers.
I've installed 4 CAI's and this is the first time I got all this crap. I also noticed the rubber tubing is different from the previous ones. This one is much tighter and thinner than the older ones.

i went through the same problem installing the upper cai piece. it's cattman too. i did spray a lot of lubricant on it, completely loosened the clamps to the maximum, and had to move around the maf sensor piece a lot to get both ends to match up. good luck to you, i know your pain!!

I noticed a snug fit, but nothing a little force didn't solve. My only problem came with the vacuum hoses. They didn't quite reach. I'll head out and pick up some new hoses, but aside from that, no problems.

should I try to return the piece to Cattman... maybe he'll replace that silicone hose piece with one that'll give a lil.

Vic, Dee and I tried for over an hour using flatheads and everything that we could possible think of to get the MAF piece in but were unsucessful

mystery solved

Took a closer look at both ends of the upper tube and it looks to me like Cattman used the same size hose for both ends. That explains why we couldn't get the MAF tube in for the life of us.

That means one thing.. off to the post office tomorrow.

hmm got mine like a month ago, still not installed although a friend was doing it and we got the upper piece on fine, then realized we didn't have the key to the tool box with the plasma cutter so its was pretty much just a "test" fitting heh seemed ok I hope I don't run into any problems when I do it all for real, god i wish I had the n00ts to mess around under the hood

hmmmm i have that end going to the throttle body and the other end is going to the MAF.

i used a little bit of motor oil just to lubricate the the silicon hose and then squeezed it in.

Same here. I used elbow grease instead of motor oil
