Bens Ecu Mod - Bypassing Speed Limiter

Hey Guys,

I am trying to wire in a switch inorder to by-pass the speed limiter on my 98 GXE. I know it is covered in the FAQs but the 98's and I believe 99's are different.

Looking frmo the passanger side at the ECU harness while it is plugged in. I see two pink with blue stripe wires. They are both to the right of the big screw in the middle. I cut the one all the way to the end and it didnt work. I dont want to cut the other pink/blue wire without confirmation. Is it the pink/blue stripe wire which i need to cut? or is it some other color on the 98 99's? I've looked at two seperate diagrams but they either label the pin # or the wire color. I dont know how the pins are layed out... I havnt taken the harness off but If I do then my question is this: Are the pinouts on the ECU numbered? If not then can u guys help me out by telling me how they are numbered? Or if anyone has modified their 98/99s then maybe u can tell me which wire to cut... I've read the orignal thread by ben and sprintmax i blieve and the confusion is present there as well regarding which wire to cut. However their problem was a little different than mine. they had two pink/blue stripe wires as well, but one was to the left of the screw and one was to the right. My wires both fall to the right of the screw. Can someone verify this please??

thanks.

Look at the link to Sprint's write-up with pics in the FAQ.
