Does anyone know for a fact what the 4th gen injector and fuel pump is rated for?
I was testing my car last night with the MEVI valve opened fully and doing some high-speed/rpm pulls. Something very odd happened. At around 6000 rpms, the engine started to buck severely as if it was starving for fuel. I am worried about two things: either something is goind south in my fuel system or the fuel system is now overtasked due to the power adders. The latter concerns me more. Which leads me to me questions:
- What is the flow rating of the stock 4th gen fuel pump? Would I be upgrading if I installed the 190 lph Walbro pump? Is it even needed?
- What is the flow rating of the stock 4th gen fuel injectors?
- Same as above but for the 5th gen injectors? Are they higher flow than the 4th gens? I know they are top feed rather than side feed like the 4th gens, but are they also higher flow. I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to upgrade my entire fuel injector/rail/regulator assembly to a 5th gens. I'm sure I could source a used assembly from somewhere.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry I can't help ya. Doesn't the fsm have that info? Plus I don't think any bolt on could really overwhelm the stock injectors(provided your stock fuel pump is up to the task). When I drove Ian's car, there was absolutely no bucking, just smooth undying power up to redline(auto but pre SC at that time).

mathematics wasnt my favorite subject in High School ![Frown](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
hehehe
I'm 99% sure the stock fuel pump and injectors can handle the MEVI and most mods... Nigel is still running stock injectors or he was all the way until 350+ hp

The injectors should be 259cc. They are basically the same as the SR20 and VG30DE injectors. It might be that your fuel pump is slowly dying on you. The easiest thing to do is Tee into the fuel line from the fuel filter to the rail and measure the pressure. There might be a possibilitly of maxing out the injectors at the factory psi setting. But you'd have to measure FP at WOT first.
