How can I install an OEM Shift ****?

I currenty have an aftermarket shift ****. Like a few members here, I cut down the stock shifter like 2.5 inches two years ago. By doing that I lost the threads on the shift rod. So now, my aftermarket ones shakes, rattles. I adjust the allen screws like every other day on it. So I am going to throw it out.

I just ordered the "20th" Anniversary shift **** from Customaxima.
Since its an OEM ****, it is meant to go on a threaded rod.
How can I secure this new **** in place?
Is there a special glue I can use?

thanks in advance to any caring member who decides to comment

You can get it re-threaded.
Either by buying the tools or taking it to a shop...
I forget what the tool is called tho..

Uhm, the tools that come to mind are a pipe threader but it's way to massive for what you want to do. You should check in the electrical tools section in home depot or any other hardware store. They have threaders of all types and sizes if I'm not mistaken.
