Need Help Installing Momo Boot!
#1
Hi All,
I just picked up my momo boot and **** (race air leather aluminum). That boot is huge! For those of you that have put them in, did you modify the boot at all. I'm thinking that i will have to cut the boot shorter and go pick up an extra shift boot, rip out that wire that's inside of the lining and glue it to the new boot or something. Any tips would be appreciated. Also, what's the best way to secure the **** really, really, tight. I have the STS and the **** has to be on really good.
-Thanks.

I didn't cut my Momo boot at all.
I cut the wire ring out of the old OEM boot, slipped it into the new boot from the bottom, which left around 3" of leather hanging below. No biggie. Then I snapped the wire ring back into the trim piece, thereby clamping the new boot to the trim piece. I've had it for around 2 months and have had no problems.

Same here... if you don't like the way it looks, take it out and try again.
I actually screwed it into the **** first and lifted the boot over the ****... put the wire in - line it up the way you like... snap the wire in the guides and pull the whole thing back down and into the console.

Ok, I guess I have to take apart that OEM boot. I wanted to keep that in case I needed to put it back on. I lost my OEM shift **** and I actually needed it for the past two weeks. I'll give that a try. So then did u screw the **** onto the shift lever first, and then screw it into the boot? Lemme know,
Thanks

Put the boot over the shifter, attach ****
attach boot to **** and the boot to plastic console piece.
The fruits of your labor.
