CEL on but I cant reset it? Please help

Ok, about a month ago I installed Franken car intake and the cel came on because of intake temp code. No problem, I reset it and everything was fine. About a week and a half ago I put on my warpspeed y and b pipe and the cel came back on. I honestly didnt feel that much of a power increase for some reason. I had to disconnect the battery for something else and the light went off and the car really seemed to have more power all of a sudden. However the very next time I started the car the cel came right back on. I have been trying to reset it according to my haynes manual and instruction here on the org with no luck. The cel light is on when the car is on but not on when it is turned to the on position to check for codes and reset it.

Why isn't the light coming on like its supposed to? and is there a loss in power when the cel comes on?

BTW I did a quick search and only found one similar problem but with no solution.

Thanks in advance,
T

Do you have the key in the "on" position or "acc" position when checking for codes? It should be "on", with all the other lights lit up. If doing the proper procedure (I only know about 4th gens), you should get a code for what is wrong, and if nothing wrong, you should get code 0505. This lets you know the computer is going through the diagnostics. I made the mistake of having the key only in the "acc" position once and I had to step back and regroup before I had caught my mistake. I don't have any exhaust mods so I don't know about the performance aspect of your post. Hope this helps and you get it figured out.

You turning the screw on the computer twice? I made the mistake of only turnin it once and it didn't reset.
