i think i messed my gauges up, need help badly!

me and a friend were installing these reverse indiglo gauges i bought off ebay....we took out the dash and everything, took the case off, put the new gauges over it and then we got stuck at this point.....from the lil control thingy they gave me (like a lil black box) we didn't know where to splice the red wire and the where the black wire goes?i have a 97 GXE auto...does someone out there know where the wire is to splice into? we found this set of wires under the steering wheel column and spliced it into a blue wire and a black one, it didn't work, i'd like to know exaclty where to splice the red wire from the lil box thingy and where to splice the black wire for the box thingy for the gauges to work, right now the gauges are just sitting like we installed them, but they aren't connected so i can't drive at night or anything...and then heres another thing...i think it happened because we accidently put the gauges face down on the needles, but my needles are acting funny....my tach idles somewhere above 1000 RPM and my speedometer needle is acting up a lil too...when i'm slwoing down, i notice the needle doesn't drop instantly like it should, i could be doing 30 and it'll say i'm still doing like 35 or 40, i'm fuked....how do i fix the needles to how they were like before....lol, its funny a lil bit, but seriuos because i can't drive at nite....

First off, did you remove the little screws that hold the stock guages in place? You have to remove them. Then you'll have to glue the guages down. Use a hi-temp glue on them because they tend to heat up in the summertime and the same problems will occur. Make sure you pay extra attention to the center of the guages closest to the needle. That's where it starts to stick. That should fix the needle sticking problem. As for the wiring. Plug in the four harnesses (if you haven't already). To wire in the ground, look on the back of the guage cluster for a little screw that looks like its not attached to anything. The screw has the letters GND under it. You'll want to partially remove that screw and wrap the black wire around it. Then screw it back down until its snug. Then you connect your red wire (pos.) to the dimmer control's blue wire by t-splicing it. After that plug in you dimmer control switch and test for proper operation. Hope this helps!!

Not to sound like a duma***, but where is the blue wire located? where the old dimmer switch i no longer need is? and the needles might be messed up internally, i'm postive that the no part of the gauges rub against the needle
