TRANNY OIL????

The best you can put in would be Amzoil Synthetic ATF, they have been around the longest the price runs from about $7.55 retail. It will drop your trans temp abyt 20-50 degrees ant it would likely be the last time you ever need to change the fluid. The same goes for the engine oil, it may cost more than Mobil 1, but I had to change my Modil 1 at 5-6k miles and the Amzoil lasts a min of 25k and they will even supply you with a kit to have a sample tested. I have seen a test where they ran 409,000 miles with no oil change, in a MAC truck! They changed the filters every 12.5k and submitted samples, the oil was still below MAC standards for an oil change but they decided to tear the engine down for a look see. You really just have to read the report, it's amazing. Unlike these other snake oil companies they have been around for ages and have yet to be ordered by a court to recind their product claims as the case was for Slick 50. I can't fathom why anyone would use anything less than a synthetic like Mobil at the very least.... normal oils have no place in a performance engine. I have been buying Amzoil froma local dealer who has just talked me into becoming a dealer myself....hell it costs $10 to sign up! It paid for itself in what I saved on the last batch of oil I just bought for my new Maxima's first synthetic change.

I'll go for that good stuff
So what's the best way to change 100% of the tranny oil & change the filter. I'm at 56K on a 95SE and would like to do this soon. Was considering Jiffy Lube T Tech Service but I suspect they won't put in the good aforementioned oil. I don't like the idean of mixing good new with old, am I off base or what?

Amzoil is 100% compatible with normal oil and you can't get all the oil out since the convter may hold quite a bit. If you replace the bulk of it with a good oil it will be ok. I would recommend a tranny shop or a regular shop where you can watch to make sure they actually put your expensive oil in.

does the trans fluid get changed as part of the 90k service? Will putting the good stuff in make it easier to put it into gear? My shifter is kind of a pull to put it into the gears, but the clutch is hard too so i guess it's just suppose to be sporty...

My clutch (stock) has very low pedal effort, is yours an upgraded unit (aftermarket)? If its stock and its hard to depress the clutch, you may have a clutch issue which would explain it being difficult to shift.
