Big Rims/Wide Tires-Not always good

I thought I loved my 18s and 235 width tires until I compared them back to my stock GLE setup. My rims and tires together weigh 68lbs and my old setup was 39lbs. I wonder how much it is hurting my acceleration?

It's hurting you alot. Not only are your rims MUCH heavier, but they are also 3" bigger which works the engine harder as well. Unsprung weight is a b!tch and you gotta be carefull wheels you select.

My 17x8's w/tires only weigh ~9lbs. more then my stock setup. Probubly has slowed me down a tiny bit.

68lbs per wheel/tire Ok 68 - 39 = 29lbs unsprung x 8 = 232lbs sprung x 4 = 928lbs sprung total. You now have a ~4000lb sedan.
