1997 Rear brake groan
Hi guys,
I have a 1997 Maxima with the rear brake groan condition upon slowly backing up. Nissan has a service bulletin on this: NTB99-031A. It calls for replacing the rear brake pad mounting clips and the E-Brake cables. I have seen the bulletin but the correct part #'s were not listed. Can anyone with access to alldata look up this SB and find the updated Nissan part #'s that are needed. I would hate to go to their parts department and unknowingly buy the older version.
Thanks alot, John

They did this for my car when my rear brakes siezed. The Service department didn't look at the bulletin I guess though, because when I had them listen to the noise initially they said it was my tires LOL.
They replaced my rear pad clips and e-brake cables, but of course charged for it....

They charged me an arm and a leg, I know that much. I think it was something like $250. I should have done it myself...doh. I never let them do anything normally; they wanted $300 to change my strut mount bearings which they said were causing the noise that was still there after I changed them. But Tom and I fixed that noise by removing the isolators from the very end of the springs, so...yeah...dealerships do stink. Even the one I like is still stupid. They never read those bulletins.
