tips for preparing for a road trip

I m driving from St. Paul, Mn back down to New Orleans next week (like 2100 miles) to go back to school. Just wondering if there are any things I can/should do to make it as easy on my car as possible (besides not letting my g/f drive). I already changed the oil. Let me know, thanks.

top off all fluids (especially radiator fluid), check air filter, check tire pressure, wash car (hehehe), maybe get some fuel injection cleaner in your tank as you drive, check all light bulbs for safety, (and make sure your g/f doesnt see this post) hehe

Disable top speed limiter if so equipped.

Clean your windows inside & outside. Do as s2cmpugh said and check all fluids and tire pressures. I don't think you need to check your filters. However you might need an oil change once you get there. Oh yeah and do what Ben said.

everytime i go on a road trip i bring my girlfriend along for the ride... its kinda funny looking back in the rear view mirror seeing the reactions of people when she comes up for air.

but seriously, like everyone else said...check your fluids... tires (for nails... and air pressure). change your oil... and if you have a hydrolic jack... i'd bring it along.. makes changing flats much easier... i haven't tried it yet, but i went out and bought one of those do-it-yourself tire plug kits... i've see them used @ gas stations... i'm guessing they work ok. oh, and plenty of Redbull and some good cd's. have a safe trip
