wht kkind of exhausts.. u all tell me!!
ok i know i can search for this but i dont want wht a computer thinks is wht i want.. i want to know from all of u and wht u all think.
i had a firebird that had a flowmaster duel exhaust and loved that rumble of a V8. i then had to get rid of that car and got a 98 Maxima SE. i love both these cars alot. the one thing i do miss is the low rumble. i know that i am not going to be able to get the exact low rumble, but i would settle for something close. the question for all of u is... wht type of full aplications (y pipe, cat back system) can i get to make the exhaust as low rumble as possible and not have the tin can noise associated with a 4 or 6 cylindar car?? please list telling wht y-pipe and wht cat-back system u all think of. also, along with opening the flow of the exhaust which one offers a noticable HP change??
thanks for ur time on this.
peace

The Greddy unit is very popular, but offers a droning sound at around cruising rpm (~2.5k), which is quite annoying if you are trying to carry a conversation. The tip of the Greddy is roughly 4 inches in diameter. This runs retail for about $500, and can be bought for around $450. It's a well made product (stainless steel) and thus very popular.
The Apex'i World Series cat-back is fairly new to the market was was originally named the "RS" series. The WS offers a nice big 4.25" tip and is fairly quiet. Retails for around $450, and can be purchased for as low as $380.
The Stillen cat-back is available for roughly the same price as the WS, but i annoying loud, especially the muffler. Which gives out a "Bbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeeeeee" exhaust noise when you hammer the throttle. But if you're into that kind of thing, more power to you.
Courtesy-Nissan offers not a full cat-back system, but a Bpipe which is 2.5" mandrel bent stainless steel. Which is really nice if you want to make your own system. But recent fitment issues with 97 and above make this mod iffy. The adapter piece which you will need for the later yeared Max, is crimped at a bend, which makes this mod nearly pointless. Unless you buy the bpipe and have a local muffler shop fabricate a smoother-flowing adapter piece, then you might suffer a slight performance loss.
