Installing alarm, need 2001 wire confirmation.

I'm finally getting around to installing my Clifford Matrix RS2 alarm after sitting in the closet for well over a year. I've found 5th Gen wire colors online through forums that allow SEARCHES but I need someone to confirm that they are accurate.

Anyone who's done a 2001 please let me know if there is anything I should know. Also, I need to purchase the 555u or 556u.

Where did you mount all the relays and the brain?

Craig B provided me with this but it needs confirmation:

Just double checked every wire you listed with Directed's tech site, which I use at work (circuit city installer). All 100% correct.

Also, http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/viper791xv/ is Studman's (Jeremy's) website, with a complete, very thorough how-to for installing the Viper 791XV in a 5th gen. Although it might be a little different since yours is Clifford, theyre both Directed so it should be similar. You should definitely pm him with any questions, he would be glad to help, knows a ton about it all, and has done plenty of these in all gen maximas.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply. Now, do you know if their Tech Sheet is correct by visually comparing the list to the actual car wires?

I've been searching http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/default.asp forums and have found a lot of great info there too and people have linked different .pdf's with install diagrams, etc.

Now I just need to pick up the key transponder and I'll be ready to start. I should be able to knock it out over the good part of a Sat/Sun and these pictures and the link help so much!

Eric.

99% of the time theyre right, but its really impossible to tell 100% of the time, which is where a digital multimeter comes in handy for voltage testing. A test light will still work, just not as safe as a multimeter, so if you plan on installing any alarms in the future, or will ever need to test resistance, continuity, coltage, etc, definitely get a multimeter. You should be fine to trust directechs though...if you are in a bind for money though, is still at least get a $5 test light so if there are two similarly colored wires in a similar location, you can double check your work.

Good luck again...alarms are always fun to learn and good to have knowledge about.
