Trunk Release
Trunk Release
Anyone ever had a problem with the trunk release popping opening when driving?
I did by accidently pushing the trunk release when driving thank goodness it was not on the highway.
Now I lock the trunk but at the same time I cannot used the trunk release on the remote.

Thr trunk doesn't pop even 2 inches, and with all the downforce on the rear of the car there is no way it is going to open. It wouldn't be a problem at any speed unless you were going really fast in reverse. And then it would be a real problem because you wouldn't be able to see where you're going!
Cyrus you are right on with that one,
Imagine you are just standing there and a Maxima comes backing on by you in reverse, with the trunk open, I think I would die from the laughter!
No, first I would run after the guy and try to help save his Max, then I would laugh my a$$ off!!

I just unplugged the switch in the door. When I installed my alarm/remote start, I just setup one of the channels to pop the trunk so I don't need the door switch anymore. The only way it will open is by the remote or the key. A little more secure that way if you've got something to keep secure in the trunk.
