clear corner lense is loose

I just got my clear corners in the mail today and installed them too, well the lense that can pop out with a screw driver doesnt fit very tight on either side. has anyone had this problem? and what could i put on there to hold it in place, cause it rattles while i drive and i am just worried about it falling out and hanging there while i drive around. thanks

You can try applying some clear silicone around the gap between the lens cover and housing so that it won't rattle around so much. If it feels like the entire thing will fall out, try using a washer to secure it in there. You'll have to reach around into the inside of the bumper to do this...

I did it ghetto style and used a strip of bubble wrap and some electrical tape. On the side pieces (the ones that snap in) I wrapped the end that slides in the slot to give more cushion. Surprisingly this has held up for the past year.

Also, I wrapped the pin that snaps into the plastic ring with electrical tape to give it more snug fit.

I also had this problem...

so, I just attached some cardboard to the nib that sits in the body...
and the extra size squeezed in and kept it there...I've had them for more than a year with no problems...

Mine do the same thing, Wish there were better instructions on how to reach under the inside and bolt it. What type of bolt and washer? Maybe what size to get? metal washer or rubber? or plastic?

Mine fell out at 120+ mph causing around $200+ dammage to the front side of my car. Make sure that they are bolted in correctly!

I thought I heard about the nub inside being unscrewed and how you can reverse the original ones with the replacement ones? Isn't that right?

I have clears and mine went on and stay on fine. There were replacement parts for the hole inside, but I didn't use em. Left it stock.

I used a few strips of weather stripping from AutoZone. It's the stuff that's designed for the rim of a truck bed when you're putting on a shell. You could also go with the stuff from Home Depot for the house. It's super sticky on one side and has no adhesive on the other. I layered it two deep and that provided just the right amount of resistance. Won't rot like cardboard might and doesn't require any delicate work with washers that won't compress. I ended up with a nice and snug fit for both the screw in side and the snap in piece.

Cheers,

JK

I had the same problem. I went to Home Depot and found a little rubber "****", for lack of a better term, that has a whole going through it. It looks like:

The stud from the clear corner fits snugly into the big end (bottom) and the skinny end (top) fit snugly into the mounting hole on the front bumper.

thanks everyone, i think I'll try that weather stipping... i have had a problem with people stealing my valve stem caps, and my grill once....so if this is a person who owns a max too...then i'm worried about them taking my clears. but hopefully nothing will happen to them

Simple answer.

I just unscrewed the STOCK orange reflector screw out that has that friction nub at the end and then exchanged that with the clear ones....that way the clear lights fit on like stock!

THis of course after I lost my first clear corners by having them fall off.
